SaniVITE Benefits

The SaniVITE is a system that is used to install a kitchen or laundry room up to 16  feet below the sewer line, or even up to 150 feet away from a soil stack. The SaniVITE system is designed to connect with:

  1. This SaniVITE gray water pump
  2. Any Sink
  3. Any Dishwasher
  4. Any Washing Machine
The Sanivite is a gray water pump that is ideally suitable for use in a basement apartment or anywhere in the house where additional fixtures are most wanted. It will pump waste water away from a variety of sources such as: a kitchen sink, laundry sink, washing machine (indirect connection), dishwasher, bar sink, etc.

The Sanivite model was designed to sustain the toughest applications meant for gray water pumps. Its pumping capabilities and unique design are the reason why these range of pumps are preferred for heavy duty applications.

SaniVITE Installation

Do away with extensive beneath-the-floor pipework with this easy-to-install system with the Saniflo SaniVITE Gray Water Pump. The pump easily connects to the desired sanitary units: between the pump and the discharge pipe, from the pump to the vent system, and to the power outlet. Installation is made simple with a rotating discharge arm.

The SaniVITE is simplicity itself to install; there are just four connections.

  1. Drains from desired bathroom fixtures are connected to the SaniVITE pump (ie shower, tub, sink, etc)
  2. The pump is connected to a vent system.
  3. The pump is connected to the drain pipe.
  4. The pump is connected to the electrical supply.
And you're done!

SaniVITE Function

The inside of the SaniVITE is comprised of a pressure chamber, which starts and stops the unit, and the motor, which drives the pump.
When the water enters the Sanivite, it activates a micro switch in the pressure chamber, which in turn starts the motor.  The motor is sealed for life in an oil filled enclosure.  A spindle/shaft drives the impeller and therefore the moving parts are kept to an absolute minimum.  Water enters the chamber and is pumped away into the sanitary sewer.

The unit pumps the effluent upward to 16 feet and/or 150 feet horizontally (with gravity fall).  Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the micro switch deactivates the unit until water enters the unit again.  A normal operating cycle for the Sanivite can be as short as 2 - 10 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.

This gray water pump connects to multiple sanitary units, including dishwasher, washing machine, urinal, bathtub, whirlpool and shower, and features operating cycles that last for 10 seconds or less. The pump is equipped to handle heavy-duty functions and pumps horizontally and vertically. The system should be placed at a distance of up to 150 feet from soil stacks or up to 16 feet beneath sewer lines.

The waste water from other sanitary fixtures is discharged into the SaniVITE via two 1-1/2 inch inlets, on either side of the housing and an additional inlet on the top of the unit.  The discharge elbow on top of the Sanivite can be turned either to the left, to the right, or towards the back, depending on the discharge installation.  A non-return valve, which comes already assembled on the discharge elbow, prevents back flow into the unit.

This unit has been designed with a vent connection on the lid.  All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system.  Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent.  The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems.

The SaniVITE is small enough to fit comfortably inside a kitchen cabinet or vanity or inside the overhang of a whirlpool. The Saniflo SaniVITE Gray Water Pump is self-contained and does not detract from the aesthetics of your kitchen, laundry or utility room. It is also highly recommended for the gray water pump to be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.

The SaniVITE has been certified to American and Canadian Standards.  Electrical standard UL 788, CA:  Electrical standard CSA C22.2
