SaniACCESS 3 Benefits

The SaniACCESS 3 is a system that is used to install a complete bathroom up to 15 feet below the sewer line, or even up to 150 feet away from a soil stack. The SaniACCESS 3 pump is designed to connect with:

  1. This SaniACCESS 3 Upflush Toilet
  2. Any Sink
  3. Any Shower
  4. Any Bath

SaniACCESS 3 Installation

The SaniACCESS 3 is simplicity itself to install; there are just four connections.

  1. The macerating/pump is connected to the spigot of a horizontal outlet toilet.
  2. The toilet tank is connected to the water supply.
  3. The macerating/pump is connected to the small diameter discharge pipe work.
  4. The macerating/pump is connected to the electrical supply.
Then optionally connect the discharge pipes from the sink, shower and/or bath.

SaniACCESS 3 vs. SaniPLUS Comparison

The SaniACCESS 3 and the SaniPLUS are virtually the same pump, except the SaniACCESS 3 was recently redesigned with a modular layout for easier access to the electrical components and the macerating blades. So in the rare case of a clog, you can quickly clear it yourself with no need for a plumber.

SaniACCESS 3 Function

The inside of the unit comprises of a pressure chamber, which starts and stops the unit, and the motor, which drives the stainless steel macerator blades and the pump.

When the flush is activated, the water flowing into the SaniACCESS 3 activates a micro switch in the pressure chamber, which in turn starts the motor.  The motor is sealed for life in an oil filled enclosure.  A common spindle/shaft drives the impeller and the macerator blades.  The moving parts therefore are kept to an absolute minimum.  Water and organic waste matter enter the chamber and are reduced to slurry as the macerator blades rotate at 3600 RPM.  The centrifugal force causes the reduced solids to be ejected through a grill into the container where it is picked up by the impeller pump mounted beneath the motor.  The unit pumps the effluent upward to 15 feet and/or 150 feet horizontally (with gravity fall).  Once the water level in the container goes down, the micro switch deactivates the unit until the flush is activated again.  A normal operating cycle for SaniACCESS 3 takes about 10 - 15 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.

In addition to the toilet waste, the SaniACCESS 3 will also discharge gray water from a variety of other sanitary fixtures such as: a sink, a bathtub, a shower and a urinal.  When adding a bathtub or shower, a base will have to be constructed.  This base should be made out of a 2" x 6" (minimum) or 2” x 8” (recommended) on edge, to allow for the installation of a P-trap and the required 1/4” per foot gravity flow towards the pump unit.

The wastewater from other sanitary fixtures is discharged into the SaniACCESS 3 via two 2-inch inlets on either side of the housing.  Either one or both inlets can be used as required.  The discharge elbow on top of the unit can be turned either to the left, to the right, or towards the back, depending on the discharge installation.  A non-return valve, which comes already assembled on the discharge elbow, prevents back flow into the unit.

This unit has been designed with a vent connection on the top of the unit.  All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system.  Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent.  The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems.  It is also highly recommended for the macerator/pump to be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.

Periodic maintenance can be accomplished easily without having to disconnect the unit from either the toilet or the rest of the plumbing system.  Through one service panel, a service contractor can access the electrical components as well as the level sensor mechanism of the pump.  The second service panel provides ready access to the basket area around the macerating blades for easy removal of any large objects that may have been accidentally flushed.

The SaniACCESS3 has been certified to American and Canadian Standards.  Macerating standard; US: CSA Certified & IAPMO (UPC) listed - ASME A112.3.4, CA: Macerating Standard CSA B45.9.

SaniACCESS 3 Water Conservation

I built a full bathroom in our basement. I purchased the Saniflo 3 System.
I installed a bath tub and sink and everything works great. I did hire a plumber to do the hookups.
Total bathroom completed was $3000.00. The best estimate I got from contractors was $12000.00.
By doing the framing. drywall and minor electrical I saved at least $9000.00!

After a lot of research, it really came down to this one or the Saniplus, and we just decided that the little bit of security, knowing we can open it up in case of a clog or whatever, was worth it to us. Had it installed about a month ago and so far no problems. Very happy customer. Thank you - Tom

When the lower level of my house was flooded from superstorm sandy, my life was turned upside down. Among the many rooms destroyed, was the basement bathroom. It was always problematic anyway since the bowl sat on an 8 inch platform of concrete, making it seem like a royal thrown. One that required a delicate balancing act just to make sue of.

When I found Saniaccess system, I realized this could solve these problems. However, with insurance money tight, I had to find a reasonable vendor. I found that in UpFlushToilet.com. Their staff was knowledgeable, price was reasonable, and their shipping fast. They made sure all my concerns were flushed down the drain. They were even very helpful with returns when I ordered an extra part, not knowing the exact location since the walls weren't built when this was ordered. Thank you UpFlushToilet.com. I highly recommend them and their products.

My plumber bought this for me and installed it in just one day. Had a great experience. We have kids so I was sold on the idea that if there is a clog I can open it up myself and fix it in a jiffy. Had it for a few months now, no problems. Yes, the super fast shipping is something I appreciated too, like the other reviewers said.

Really amazing actually. This thing just opens up with no mess. I had it installed a couple of weeks ago and just love it!

As a plumber I've installed many SaniPluses before, always had a great experience. For this customer I recommended the Saniaccess because they have kids and they worried about them throwing stuff in the toilet and clogs all the time. But with this model, I just showed them how to open it and clear it out themselves. So far, no clogs they said, but the $100 bucks was worth the piece of mind to them. I now recommend the Access over the Plus to all my customers, just for that feature.
